From London: Canterbury Tour & Visit To White Cliffs of Dover
Visit Canterbury from London, and discover the natural wonder of The White Cliffs of Dover along the way.
Leave London behind for a day of history, heritage, and coastal beauty as you journey through the heart of Kent — the “Garden of England.” Your day begins with a visit to the world-famous White Cliffs of Dover, where striking chalk cliffs rise dramatically above the English Channel. Take in the fresh sea air and panoramic views across to France on a clear day, and learn about Dover’s fascinating past — from its vital role in World War II to its reputation as Britain’s symbolic “gateway to the world.” You’ll also have the chance to admire the impressive Dover Castle, which has stood guard over the coastline for more than 900 years.
After exploring Dover, continue to the historic city of Canterbury, one of England’s most beautiful and culturally significant destinations. Stroll through charming medieval lanes, lined with timber-framed houses and quaint shops, and visit the magnificent Canterbury Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the seat of the Archbishop of Canterbury. Discover the city’s deep religious and literary history — from medieval pilgrims to Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales — and experience why this timeless city has inspired visitors for centuries.
